Accommodation near Warwick Hospital

Warwick Hospital, on Lakin Road in the north-west of Warwick, is run by South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. It grew from the infirmary of the Warwick Union workhouse, built in 1848. A purpose-built hospital opened on the site in 1903.

The hospital joined the NHS in 1948. The district's main maternity unit moved here from the Warneford Hospital in Leamington Spa in 1993, the Aylesford Unit cancer centre opened in its own building in February 2010 and work on a new birthing centre began in 2018.

The trust is now building a new main entrance and an elective hub, so parts of the main visitor car park are affected while the work goes on; there are two visitor car parks. Warwick railway station is a short walk away and the trust notes that Chiltern Railways' Birmingham to London trains now all call at Warwick.

Visiting runs from midday to 7pm, seven days a week, with up to two visitors at a bedside at a time. Visitors are encouraged to come at mealtimes to help patients eat and drink.

Humber Hub is about 10 miles by road from the hospital, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 10 miles and Sullivan Heights about 12 miles. Nurses and doctors on placement, agency staff and families supporting a patient for more than a few days get a whole house with a kitchen and a washing machine.
