Stoke Lodge
4 bedrooms · 2 bathrooms · sleeps 9 · Lower Stoke
Next door to Stoke House. About 2 miles by road from Coventry city centre.

All four homes sit on the east side of the ring road, close enough for the cathedral, the museums and the station, with a whole house to come back to.
Coventry's centre is compact and held inside its ring road. Most of what visitors come for is a short walk from the cathedral quarter. The city has had three cathedrals. The bombed shell of the medieval St Michael's still stands, its tower and spire rising to 284 feet. The new cathedral, consecrated in 1962, was built right beside it, so the two are seen together as a symbol of wartime destruction and of reconciliation.
A few streets away, Coventry Transport Museum holds the largest publicly owned collection of British-made road transport: more than 240 cars and commercial vehicles, about 100 motorcycles and 200 bicycles. Its headline exhibits are Thrust2 and ThrustSSC, the British jet cars that broke the land speed record in 1983 and 1997. The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum on Jordan Well, named after the industrialist Sir Alfred Herbert, opened in 1960 and reopened in 2008 after a £14 million refurbishment.
For an evening out, the Belgrade Theatre was the first civic theatre built in Britain after the Second World War. It takes its name from Coventry's twin city of Belgrade, which gave beech timber for the building. On the other side of the ring road, FarGo Village has filled converted shipping containers on Far Gosford Street with independent cafés, street food and small shops since it opened in 2014.
Coventry station sits on the southern edge of the centre, just outside the ring road. Nearly 6.5 million passengers used it in 2023–24, which makes it the second busiest station in the West Midlands after Birmingham New Street.
