12 photos of the layout Stoke Lodge and Stoke House share. The ones marked Illustrative were furnished digitally to the specification of the fit-out; the rest show the rooms as built.
Three bedrooms each take a king-size bed and the fourth has two singles, so two colleagues get a bed each without sharing. A sofa bed in the living room covers a ninth person. Linen and towels are fresh for every stay.
The biggest bedroom sits in the roof, under a sloping ceiling with a dormer window, with its own shower room and a 43-inch Smart TV. Give it to the supervisor or to whoever is staying the longest.
Downstairs from the top-floor shower room there is a family bathroom with a bath and a shower over it, which takes the pressure off the morning rush.
A 55-inch Smart TV with Netflix faces the sofa and French doors open from the living room on to an enclosed garden. The fitted kitchen has a built-in fridge, a kettle, a toaster and the pans, crockery and cutlery to cook properly.
A built-in washing machine, a steam iron and an ironing board, so work clothes are washed and pressed at the house rather than at a launderette.
Parking is free on the street outside, with no permit or car park to pay for at the end of a shift.
House rules: No smoking inside, no parties or events and no pets.
Crews and site teams get a bed each in four bedrooms and two bathrooms between them, with the city centre about 2 miles away by road and Jaguar Land Rover's Whitley site about 3. Teams at Coventry University, about a mile from the house, barely need the car.
Stoke House next door has the same layout, so a bigger team can take the pair and stay side by side on one booking and one pro-forma invoice.
Lovely stay! The place was clean, stylish, and exactly as described. The host was friendly and I will definitely be booking again!
Excellent host.
We had a great stay. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The host was very responsive.
