Accommodation for JLR teams

JLR lists nine UK sites on its careers pages. Whitley, in Coventry, is the global headquarters and the home of Powertrain Engineering, along with sales, marketing, finance and HR. Gaydon, in south Warwickshire, is the principal design and engineering centre: a site of 4,000,000 square metres that JLR likens to almost 480 football pitches.

Two specialist sites sit close to the city. On Oxford Road at Ryton, in the old Peugeot works now called Prologis Park Ryton, JLR Classic restores and services older cars and the SV Technical Centre handles SV Bespoke paint and personalisation. Fen End, near Kenilworth, is the SV headquarters, with a test track laid on a wartime airfield.

Production lies to the west. Solihull has built Land Rovers since 1947 and added the Range Rover Electric in 2026. Castle Bromwich in east Birmingham is being equipped to press body panels for every JLR brand, the Battery Assembly Centre at Hams Hall assembles battery units and the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre at i54, near Wolverhampton, makes engines and battery packs.

Measured by road from the nearest of our four homes, Whitley is about 2 miles away, Classic Works at Ryton about 3 miles, Fen End about 12 miles, Gaydon about 18 miles, Solihull about 17 miles, Hams Hall about 18 miles and Castle Bromwich about 19 miles.

Humber Hub is about 2 miles by road from the Whitley headquarters, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 3 miles and Sullivan Heights about 4 miles. For an engineer or contractor who moves between sites during the week, one house in Coventry with free parking, a full kitchen and a pro-forma invoice for the company is simpler than a new hotel each night.
