Coventry Stays
While the builders are in

Somewhere to stay while your home is repaired

When a renovation, a rewire or damp work makes your home hard to live in, a furnished house nearby keeps the household together until the builders have gone.

What you get

What a household needs while the work goes on

Out of the dust and noise

Plastering, rewiring and new floors go quicker and safer with nobody living in the middle of them.

The household under one roof

Three or four bedrooms in every house, so a family is not split across hotel rooms for weeks.

A working kitchen

Cook normally while yours is being replaced, with a washing machine for school uniforms and workwear.

Close to home

All four houses are in Stoke, on the east side of Coventry, so the school run and the commute barely change.

Bills included

Electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi and council tax are covered.

Stays that follow the job

Book by the week or the month and extend if the builders overrun, subject to the calendar, for up to twelve months.

How invoicing works

1. Send the dates

Roughly when the work starts and how long your builder expects it to take, with the size of the household.

2. Receive the pro-forma

An itemised pro-forma invoice for the nights booked.

3. Pay before arrival

By bank transfer, before the stay begins.

4. Extend if needed

If the job runs on, we extend the stay and send a pro-forma for the extra nights, subject to the calendar.

The detail

Repairs, renovations and insurance

Plenty of building jobs are easier with the house empty: a full rewire, a new kitchen or bathroom, damp treatment and replastering, an extension that opens up the back wall, a loft conversion or new floors throughout. Builders can work longer days and the household avoids weeks of dust, noise and days without water.

This page is for work you are paying for yourself. Where the damage is part of an insurance claim, such as a flood, a fire or an escape of water, the Insurance stays page explains how we invoice the insurer or the loss adjuster instead.

All four houses are in Stoke, on the east side of Coventry. Sullivan Heights has three bedrooms and a garden; Humber Hub has four bedrooms and free off-road parking; Stoke Lodge and Stoke House have four bedrooms each, side by side. They can be booked together for a larger family.

Bookings run from a few nights to twelve months, with a lower nightly rate on longer stays. We send a pro-forma invoice before arrival and extend the stay with a fresh one if the work runs on.

Groups and teams

A whole house costs less than the hotel rooms it replaces

Checked on 9 October 2026: six people for a week from 7 November came to £949 at Sullivan Heights booked direct, against £1,098 for three rooms at the cheapest Coventry hotel listed on Booking.com. See the comparison.

  • One booking and one invoice instead of several rooms
  • A kitchen, so meals are not on expenses every night
  • A living room to end the day in together
