JLR's visitor page gives the scale: at capacity the centre will use 4 million battery cells in production every day, a total it puts at 900 million a year.
It was among the first JLR sites back at work after the cyber incident of autumn 2025. The company's phased restart began on 8 October 2025 at the Battery Assembly Centre and the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre, both in the West Midlands, with stamping and vehicle lines following.
Battery work draws in specialists: commissioning engineers, automation and robotics contractors, quality teams from suppliers and logistics staff. Hams Hall is a distribution park on the edge of Coleshill, so the evenings are better spent somewhere with a kitchen and a sofa.
