Accommodation near JLR Solihull

JLR describes Solihull as Land Rover's home of production since 1947. The plant on Lode Lane, on the north side of the town and a couple of miles south-west of Birmingham Airport, builds the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Discovery, with the Jaguar F-PACE, according to the company's own list of UK sites.

In September 2026 JLR unveiled the Range Rover Electric at Solihull, where it is built: the brand's first fully electric model in its 56-year history, after a year-long delay. The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce reported that around 9,000 people at Solihull had been trained for electrification, with 1,500 more across the wider region.

Solihull also has one of JLR's stamping operations, alongside Castle Bromwich and Halewood. When the company restarted manufacturing in October 2025 after a cyber incident stopped production, staff went back to the stamping shops first and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport lines at Solihull restarted the same week.

Plenty of the people who work at Lode Lane are not there every day. Engineers come over from Whitley and Gaydon, suppliers bring in tooling and installers fit out new lines. Many of them prefer one base for the week rather than a hotel by the airport.

Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about 17 miles by road from the plant, Humber Hub about 18 miles and Sullivan Heights about 21 miles. For a team splitting the week between Solihull and Whitley, Humber Hub is about 2 miles from the headquarters. Every house has free parking and a full kitchen.
