A hotel charges by the room and a house by the house. We priced both for two real groups on the same dates.
A hotel prices each room and a house is priced as a whole. Every extra pair of people in a hotel means another room on the bill, while a house sleeps its full number for one price. The bigger the group, the further a whole house goes.
To put numbers on it we priced two groups on 9 October 2026, two adults to each hotel room. For the hotels we took the totals Booking.com showed for Coventry, filtered to hotels and sorted by price. For the houses we took the totals the booking box on this site gave for the same dates, with the cleaning fee included.
Space is the other half of it. Three hotel rooms give six people a bed each. Sullivan Heights gives them three bedrooms, a living room, a dining table, a kitchen and a garden. Humber Hub gives ten people four en-suite bedrooms around one big open-plan room.
Running costs follow the space. A kitchen means breakfast and dinner can be cooked rather than bought, a washing machine means work clothes are washed at home and parking is free at every house.
