About Abbotts Park, Abbotts Lane

Abbotts Park is the council's name for the scheme on the former National Grid land at Abbotts Lane, which has stood vacant since 2012. Its project record lists up to 700 apartments, 700 square metres of commercial space and a new public park, with Complex Development Projects as the developer, which bought the land from National Grid.

The scheme has been redesigned to be greener, with car parking hidden underneath the buildings so that a linear park can run through the middle of the site.

The council's planning register shows four applications on Abbotts Lane and Upper Hill Street between October 2025 and July 2026: two amendments and two to approve details reserved by condition, one of them for the former Transco depot.

Large city-centre blocks keep specialist teams on site for long stretches: piling and frame contractors, cladding installers, lift engineers and the landscapers who build the park, plus the security and logistics staff who keep a busy city-centre site moving. Many of them work away from home for months.

Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about 2 miles by road from the site, Humber Hub about 3 miles and Sullivan Heights about 3 miles. Stoke Lodge and Stoke House sleep 18 between them, side by side, for a larger team.
