The Wilsons Lane site sits beside the A444 at Longford, on the boundary between Coventry and Nuneaton and Bedworth. L&Q Estates, the land arm of the housing association L&Q, promoted it for 73 homes, a quarter of them affordable, with 55,750 square metres of commercial floor space alongside. The Nuneaton and Bedworth part came forward through that borough's own Borough Plan.
Most of the land lies in Nuneaton and Bedworth, which granted its part in March 2022. Coventry City Council refused the Coventry part in October 2022 against its officers' advice. After an inquiry the planning inspector granted permission and ordered the council to pay L&Q's appeal costs, Housing Today reported in October 2023.
The scheme has since moved into its detail. The council's register shows four applications on the Wilsons Lane land between February 2025 and April 2026, most of them to approve details reserved by condition.
An employment site of this size, close to the M6, brings steel erectors, cladding teams and warehouse fit-out contractors. The homes bring their own housebuilding crews, working alongside the commercial teams on the same stretch of the A444.
