The project
About The Spires, Siddeley Avenue
The Spires is being built on land that was formerly a golf course, beside the Sphinx Club off Siddeley Avenue in Stoke Aldermoor. Countryside Partnerships is building it with Platform Housing Group, the Solihull-based housing association.
Planning permission for up to 196 homes was granted on appeal by the Planning Inspectorate in December 2022. Housing Today reported the tenure split as 23 homes for social rent, 36 for affordable rent and 137 for shared ownership, with Countryside putting more than £1.5 million into local services.
Platform's sales brochure describes two and three-bedroom homes sold through affordable ownership schemes including Shared Ownership, aimed at first-time buyers and families. It places The Spires in Stoke Aldermoor, part of the wider Stoke area.
That makes it our own neighbourhood. Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are a short walk away, so families moving in, visiting relatives and the trades finishing the last plots can all stay close to the site.
Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are under a mile by road from the site, Humber Hub about a mile and Sullivan Heights about 3 miles. Humber Hub, with four bedrooms and off-road parking, is close by too.
