The Coventry Building Society Arena, once the Ricoh Arena, is home to Coventry City and hosts concerts, exhibitions and events in the north of the city.
The Coventry Building Society Arena, often shortened to the CBS Arena and formerly the Ricoh Arena, is a complex in the north of Coventry built on the site of the old Foleshill gasworks. It has a 32,609-seat stadium, home to Coventry City, a 6,000 square metre exhibition hall, a hotel and a casino.
Arena Park shopping centre sits alongside, with one of the largest Tesco Extra stores in the UK. The arena takes its name from Coventry Building Society, which agreed a ten-year sponsorship in 2021. Coventry City won promotion to the Premier League on 17 April 2026, ending 25 years outside the top flight, so the 2026-27 season brings Premier League football and its away fans to the arena.
The stadium has hosted international events too. During the 2012 Olympics it was the City of Coventry Stadium and during the 2022 Commonwealth Games it was Coventry Stadium, when sponsors' names were not allowed.
Coventry Arena station, on the line between Coventry and Nuneaton, opened on 18 January 2016 next to the arena. One train an hour calls each way, but the station closes for an hour before and after football matches, rugby and concerts for safety, so plan your journey on event days.
Sullivan Heights is about 3 miles by road from the arena, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 4 miles and Humber Hub about 5 miles. Sullivan Heights sleeps six and has a garden for the evening after; Humber Hub sleeps 10 and Stoke Lodge and Stoke House nine each, which suits a big group coming for a gig or a match.
