University visitor accommodation

University visitor accommodation for Nuneaton

Nuneaton's oldest school is King Edward VI, founded by royal charter in 1552, which became a sixth form college in 1974. For degrees, most of the area looks south to Coventry University in the city centre and the University of Warwick on Coventry's south-west edge.

The rail link south is direct. Trains from Nuneaton run to Coventry through Bedworth and the new Bermuda Park station, opened in 2016 under the NUCKLE scheme to improve the Nuneaton, Coventry, Kenilworth and Leamington line. Express trains to London also call at Nuneaton. Bermuda Park stands a short way south of the old Chilvers Coton station, which closed in 1965; the stations at Abbey Street and Stockingford followed in 1968.

Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about a mile by road from Coventry University. For Warwick, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about 5 miles by road from the campus, Humber Hub about 6 miles and Sullivan Heights about 7 miles.

Training happens in the town too. George Eliot Hospital opened its own education centre, GETEC, in July 2005. King Edward VI had around 400 boys in the 1960s, when it was still a grammar school, before it became a sixth form college. For a graduation in Coventry, a whole house puts three generations under one roof. Warwickshire County Council has also proposed reopening a station at Stockingford and building a Nuneaton Parkway, which could open by 2034.
