Contractor accommodation for Lutterworth

Lutterworth has an engineering pedigree. In the late 1930s and 1940s Sir Frank Whittle and his company Power Jets worked on some of the world's first jet engines at the British Thomson-Houston works in the town and in nearby Rugby.

Today the work is logistics. Magna Park, on the old RAF Bitteswell airfield beside the town, held more than 13.1 million square feet of warehousing for 38 customers when GLP last counted in April 2024. Its occupiers run from Amazon and DHL to Primark and Unipart.

The park is still growing. Magna Park North Phase II offers build-to-suit plots totalling about 2 million square feet, one of them able to take a single building of 1.6 million, so racking, fit-out and commissioning work follows each new unit.

Lutterworth sits beside junction 20 of the M1. The A4303 bypass, opened in 1999, carries traffic from the M1 to the A5 clear of the town centre and the M6 is a few miles south. The nearest station is Rugby, about six miles away.

Sullivan Heights is about 15 miles by road from Lutterworth, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 16 miles and Humber Hub about 17 miles. A commissioning team gets a house with parking for the vans, a washing machine and a kitchen, booked for the weeks the job runs.
