Short lets for a few nights near Warwick

Warwick's medieval gates still stand at either end of the old town. The west gate was first recorded in 1129 and carries the chapel of St James above it; the east gate was rebuilt in the 15th century with the Chapel of St Peter on top. The Lord Leycester Hospital on the High Street is one of the few medieval buildings to survive the fire of 1694.

For an afternoon, the Warwickshire Museum has two sites: the 17th-century Market Hall in the Market Square, with archaeology, geology and natural history; St John's House, with a Victorian kitchen and classroom and the museum of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment of Fusiliers. The restored Saltisford Canal Arm, close to the centre, is lined with narrowboats.

Humber Hub is about 11 miles by road from Warwick, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 12 miles and Sullivan Heights about 14 miles. A whole house for a few nights means a proper breakfast, a sofa in the evening and room for everyone to spread out.

Castle Bridge, a single sandstone arch over the Avon, opened in 1793 and replaced a 14th-century bridge whose ruins can still be seen downstream.
