Accommodation for NHS staff in Warwick

Three NHS sites sit within the town. Warwick Hospital is the acute hospital for south Warwickshire, Leamington Spa Hospital stands beside the Warwick Gates estate and St Michael's is a psychiatric unit that replaced the old Central Hospital.

Warwick Hospital took on much of the work of Leamington's Warneford Hospital when that closed in 1993. Clinicians on rotation often split time between Warwick and University Hospital Coventry, which share patients from the north of the county.

Humber Hub is about 10 miles by road from Warwick Hospital, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 10 miles and Sullivan Heights about 12 miles. For Coventry shifts, Sullivan Heights is about 2 miles from University Hospital Coventry.

Warwick Hospital grew from the infirmary of the Warwick Union workhouse, built on what is now Lakin Road in 1848. A new hospital was completed there in 1903. The Aylesford Unit, a cancer centre, opened in February 2010 and the trust is now creating a new front entrance and a hub for planned operations. Since 2023 every Chiltern train between Birmingham and London stops at Warwick station, a short walk from the hospital. The district's main maternity unit moved here from the Warneford in 1993 and work on a new birthing centre began in 2018.

Stagecoach buses run from Warwick's bus station to Leamington, Stratford-upon-Avon and Coventry, which helps anyone working without a car.
