Leamington has turned from a spa resort into a working town for the digital economy. Studios such as Third Kind Games, Electric Square, Pixel Toys and Lab42 are based in or around it, part of a cluster that employs more than a thousand people directly in games development and has earned the town the nickname Silicon Spa.

Legal and public work brings visitors too. The Warwickshire Justice Centre on Newbold Terrace, completed in December 2010 and opened by the Queen in March 2011, houses the Crown Court, the County Court, a magistrates' court and a police station. Warwick District Council is based in the town and two national charities, the Smallpeice Trust and the Arkwright Scholarships Trust, run their programmes from here.

In 2023 The Sunday Times named Leamington the best place to live in the Midlands, which helps when persuading a senior hire to visit for a few weeks first.

Humber Hub is about 9 miles by road from Leamington, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 10 miles and Sullivan Heights about 12 miles. A visiting team gets one house, one set of keys and a pro-forma invoice with its purchase-order number on it, rather than a corridor of hotel rooms.
