Hinckley has two main hospitals of its own, served by the hospital radio station Castle Mead Radio. The older one was paid for in its early years by local workers who gave a penny a week until the NHS took it over in 1948; it has since been threatened with closure and sale.

Acute care for the area comes from George Eliot Hospital on the edge of Nuneaton, whose trust serves a population of more than 300,000 across north Warwickshire, south-west Leicestershire and north Coventry. Hinckley lies on the Warwickshire border, a few miles east of Nuneaton along the A47.

Buses help on days without a car: Stagecoach route 148 links Hinckley with Nuneaton and Coventry, alongside Arriva's 158 between Leicester and Nuneaton.
