History groups head for Bosworth. The battlefield site, run by Leicestershire County Council, has an interpretation centre at Ambion Hill, where Richard III camped before the battle of 1485. Many of the dead were buried at St James's Church in Dadlington, where a chantry was founded for them.

In the town, Hollycroft Park hosts the biggest events, including the Proms in the Park and the Worldfest music festival. The 400-seat Concordia Theatre on Stockwell Head stages regular productions and St Mary's, the 13th-century parish church, has its own legend: a tombstone said to bleed every 12 April for a saddler murdered in the Market Place in 1727.

Sullivan Heights is about 11 miles by road from Hinckley, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 12 miles and Humber Hub about 13 miles. Humber Hub sleeps 10, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House nine each next door to one another and Sullivan Heights six.

A re-enactment society, a family reunion or a club weekend can share one or two kitchens and park free at each house. The rules keep the neighbours happy: no parties or events, no smoking inside and no pets.

Locals still call the town Tin 'At, after a drover who boasted he could drink a hat full of ale.

Groups based in Coventry can add the cathedral, where the new building of 1962 stands beside the bombed shell of medieval St Michael's and its spire of 284 feet.
