University visitor accommodation for Bedworth

Bedworth has no university of its own; its secondary schools include Nicholas Chamberlaine School, whose former pupils include the musician Pete Doherty. For degree courses the closest campuses are Coventry University in the heart of the city and the University of Warwick on Coventry's south-west edge.

Getting there by rail is simple. Bedworth station sits on the Coventry to Nuneaton line and has an hourly West Midlands Railway service each way between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa, calling at Coventry on the way. The original station closed under the Beeching cuts in 1965 and reopened on the same site in 1988.

Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about a mile by road from Coventry University. For Warwick, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about 5 miles by road from the campus, Humber Hub about 6 miles and Sullivan Heights about 7 miles.

Graduation week is easier in a whole house: grandparents, parents and brothers and sisters together, a kitchen for breakfast before the ceremony and free parking for the family car. Visiting lecturers and researchers can stay for a term, with Wi-Fi throughout.

Two other stations once served the area: Hawkesbury Lane, just south of the town on the same line, closed in 1965 and Bulkington, on the Trent Valley line to the east, closed in 1931. Coventry station, where the Bedworth trains arrive, was used by nearly 6.5 million passengers in 2023 to 2024, second only to Birmingham New Street in the West Midlands.
