The castle is the reason most groups come. Begun by Geoffrey de Clinton in 1122, it held out for six months in 1266 against Prince Edward's royalist army, thought to be the longest siege of the English Middle Ages. Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, later entertained Elizabeth I here, the last time in 1575, with pageants, banquets and fireworks said to cost some £1,000 a day.

Each June the Two Castles Run links Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle. It began as a fun run in 1983 and grew so popular that all 4,000 places sold within 25 hours in 2012. The town also has two amateur theatres, the 156-seat Talisman and the 119-seat Priory in a converted chapel of 1816, plus a golf club with an 18-hole parkland course.

Sullivan Heights is about 8 miles by road from Kenilworth Castle, Humber Hub about 8 miles and Stoke Lodge and Stoke House about 9 miles. Humber Hub sleeps 10 with an en-suite for each bedroom, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House sleep nine each next door to one another and Sullivan Heights sleeps six.

A running club, a wedding party or a family reunion can cook together, share a living room and park free at each house. Every booking is for the whole house, with no other guests.

House rules keep the neighbours happy: no parties or events, no smoking inside and no pets.
