The area
About Finham
Finham lies about two and a third miles south of Coventry city centre, on the border between the West Midlands and Warwick District. Kenilworth is about three miles to its south-west and Warwick about seven. The suburb is roughly a triangle, framed by the Kenpas Highway on the A45 to the north, the A46 to the south-east and Green Lane to the south-west.
It was once wholly part of Stoneleigh parish. Most of its homes moved to Coventry City Council in the 1974 local government changes, although the streets south of Green Lane and Howes Lane are still in Warwickshire. Finham Parish Council was created on 1 April 2016.
The area is known as one of Coventry's more prosperous districts, popular with people working in Warwick, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth. Finham Park School opened on former farmland on Green Lane in 1970. Finham Primary School later moved to Green Lane from Brentwood Avenue, with the library close by.
The hamlet of King's Hill, at Coventry's southernmost point, is within a mile. Stoneleigh village lies to the south where St Martins Road meets the Finham Brook. Styvechale borders Finham along Green Lane to the north and Baginton shares part of its south-eastern edge.
