About Eastern Green

Eastern Green is a mainly residential suburb in the far west of Coventry and was formerly a village in Warwickshire. Its western part is Upper Eastern Green and its eastern part Lower Eastern Green, although people living there rarely draw the line.

Mount Nod sits between Lower Eastern Green and the A45 dual carriageway from Coventry to Birmingham, in the area east of Alderminster Road. Tile Hill North lies to the south, with Allesley, Allesley Green and Whoberley to the north and east. To the west is the boundary with Solihull, taking in the village of Berkswell and the hamlet of Pickford Green.

A stream known locally as The Brook, properly the Alles Brook, runs west to east through the middle of the district. For parts of its course it is set in a narrow band of green land with shrubs and trees before joining the River Sherbourne.

The Church of St Andrew in Upper Eastern Green was established in 1875 on the western edge of the city and looks out over farmland towards Solihull. St Andrew's Church of England infants' school sits beside it, with Home Farm to the west. National Express Coventry route 14 links the area with Whoberley, Spon End and the city centre.

Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about 6 miles by road from Eastern Green, Humber Hub about 6 miles and Sullivan Heights about 6 miles. All four houses are on the east side of the city, so this suits a longer stay where a kitchen, laundry and parking count for more than the distance.
