Relocation accommodation for Rugby

Rugby has grown steadily this century. It had 62,580 residents at the 2001 census, 70,628 in 2011 and 78,125 by 2021, which made it the second largest town in Warwickshire.

Much of the new housing is to the east and west. Houlton is being built on the site of the Rugby Radio Station, which at its height in the 1950s was the largest radio transmitting station in the world. Cawston has grown on the western side. The county council has proposed a Rugby Parkway station on the Northampton line to serve Hillmorton and Houlton, where 6,200 homes are planned over 15 to 20 years.

A new job rarely starts on the day the keys arrive. Stoke Lodge and Stoke House are about 11 miles by road from Rugby, Humber Hub about 12 miles and Sullivan Heights about 14 miles. Each is a whole furnished house with bedrooms for everyone, a kitchen, a washing machine and the bills and council tax included, so a family can live normally while it house-hunts.

The town itself is changing too: under the 2027 to 2028 reforms the Borough of Rugby is due to be replaced by a new North Warwickshire unitary authority. If an employer is covering the stay, the pro-forma invoice goes to them.
