Edgwick is a north Coventry neighbourhood built on ribbon weaving and machine tools, about a mile by road from Sullivan Heights.
Edgwick, sometimes spelt Edgewick, is a residential area about two miles north of Coventry city centre, between Great Heath and Foleshill. It is often written as Edgwick, Foleshill, a reminder that it grew up in the south of the old Foleshill parish. Its population was 15,200 in 1965 and 14,100 in 1981.
The Victoria County History of Coventry describes Great Heath and Edgwick as built up during the nineteenth century, with many houses from that period still standing when it was written. An Edgwick Field appears among the early open fields of the parish, which suggests farming here long before the streets.
Ribbon weaving was the first industry. In the last decade of the trade, Foleshill had an estimated 80 or 90 cottage factories, rows of cottages served by a single steam engine. Some in Edgwick Road were still standing in 1964. By 1902 there were concrete works at Edgwick and Great Heath as well.
Engineering followed on a much larger scale. The Alfred Herbert machine tool plant, one of the best-known names in Coventry's industrial story, was in Edgwick. Today the area also has a large park with an enclosed children's play area.

Everything was in order, clean and nice.
The place was fantastic, the bed was clean and orderly, cozy and comfortable, and we loved the cupcakes left on the table. Perfect for anyone new to Coventry for business or fun.
Great place for a short stay. Quiet area, property exactly as described, spot clean, check-in extremely easy. Host was very friendly and checked in on our 2nd day.
